PBL Roles:
What should you be doing as an instructor? What should your students be doing during the PBL process?
PBL Steps
Step 1: Present a Problem
What content related problem can you present to your kids for them to research, think through, and come up with a solution for together?
Step 2: Outline Expectations & Guidelines
Teachers outline what is expected throughout the problem solving process and what guidelines are set for the students.
What are the big questions that they need to answer and what do you want them to show you by the end?

Step 3: Create a step by step process
Kids Plan together and Submit a Proposal that will guide them throughout their quest for a solution!
Step 4: Time for Research & Collaboration
Throughout the process think about what you want your students to learn and take away.
What will they research in the quest for a solution and what knowledge will they gain? How will they collaborate with one another to reach their common goal?

Step 5: Present Findings & Solution
Allow students to have a voice by giving them the opportunity to evaluate their group members.
Make sure that your students know how they're being assessed when it comes to problem solution!
Create a backchannel during presentation times so that students have a meaningful purpose when they're watching!
